Life Lines

These works are my most recent (2008-2009) and are based on the pleasure to be found in the dynamic of lines, as hand and eye follow their movement direction and intensity. This can be seen in the drawings of young children when line, colour and spontaneity are so important.

These aspects remain important in adult life, but they need to be developed further by the addition of intellectual, emotional, technical skill and intention. Thus lines become considered rather than as with children, merely random.

The images here may speak directly to the viewer through colour and composition, or they may be viewed as life-narratives, allowing the viewer to make interpretations from their own experiences and internal worlds.
